They call me the Cosa Nostra Prince.
The first son of the most dangerous Salvatore Mafia family.
We run the crime. We take the money. We control the war.
So when our ‘launderer’ decides to run with one hundred million dollars of our money, you can bet we’ll hunt them down.
Only they’ve run to a place they think they’re safe.
A place that’s heavily guarded.
An island in the middle of nowhere.
Where the son of my family’s enemy promises me a bloody and violent end.
Only I don’t care about him…My sole focus is her.
Pretty, plain Annalise Eden.
I’ll hunt her. I’ll corner her. I’ll claim her too.
She’s the one they secretly call ‘the Ghost’.
The woman who’s made my family millions.
Millions we want back…

Book Review – Chosen by Author Sloane Murphy.
“After everything that happened, all I wanted was to go to the Academy, and maybe, just for once, get to be normal.
But now my secret is out, with repercussions I could never have dreamed of and I can’t trust anyone.
Even the ones I thought I could.
With whispers of murder still in the air, and lines between friend and foe becoming blurry, the shadows that were once my closest ally, could just be my own personal nightmare.”
This was a stunning sequel to Marked and kept me rapt throughout! For those wondering, I’d class this as an upper YA para-romance as there are some very saucy scenes in it that may be too mature for younger teens.
Sloane has done an amazing job with the character development, the story structure and, once again, I fell in love with everyone and Sloane’s writing style! Also, we got more Cam! Yay! We also get introduced to Ziniyah, who is a mer, and get to know more about his abilities.
I will say that there was one part that did have me confused, though, which was the bonfire. Although it could just have been my brain not processing it properly, but we have Eden meeting up with Cam and then them heading off to join everyone. The next thing you know it’s the morning after and Eden wakes up in Z’s room (that part was explained). I would have liked to have read more about the bonfire and the party after. Going from that scene to the next morning just didn’t flow very well for me and felt it a bit strange that it was cut like that. I even wondered if Eden had dreamed the bonfire.
The relationship dynamics in this sequel is a whole lot different to what I was expecting but woah! I am totally digging the reverse harem that Eden has going on with the guys! Hey, if they’re happy then have at it! And it made sense as far as the plot was concerned, too.
With this book, I feel like I have just stepped into a paranormal version of the Hunger Games! Only the ceremony at Black Water Academy is much more regal and fancy! I loved this little twist in the tale and I’m excited and scared to find out what happens next for our chosen one, Eden! Bring on book number 3, Hunted!

The more you do, the more chances you have to win. One winner will be chosen at random. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
My favourite men of music.
Only one of them within reach.
The night before Presley West was due to leave our small town of Hollings Hill, all of my high school fantasies came to life. He finally wanted me. Six years I’d spent pining, and now I, bar-tending Tessa Lisbon, was going to make damn sure I made that night count before the music industry stole him.
Never screw your idols. That’s what they say, right? Well, I did, and I did it well. So well, I somehow managed to screw my own heart in the process.
He gave me one night to convince him to stay. In the end, I begged him to go.
But that’s the thing about rock stars: they do what they want, when they want, and forever didn’t end up being as long as I expected.
Presley was back, and with his face, voice, and music now everywhere I turned, I officially had nowhere left to run.

Erin Michaels wants nothing more than to just survive high school. With a life long crush on the boy next door, and his mean girl girlfriend who seems to want to make her life miserable, it’s no wonder those short years feel like a lifetime.
That is, until Mason Knight.
When Mason Knight rocks up at Rocky Falls High, Erin’s world turns upside down, and her eyes are opened to a world worth living for.
Exploring love and life for the first time, Erin’s world is set ablaze in ways she never imagined possible.
‘When We Fall’ is a YA novel that centres around high school bullying, finding love, giving you strength and bravery to rise above the bullying and have the courage to stand up to it and speak out. I love that this was written in first person with a friendly conversational tone to it. It makes for a really smooth read that really pulls you in.
The characters were easy to like – or dislike depending on who (I didn’t like Evan. He was a tool from the start). The main character, Erin, is sooo the book version of me; with her style, her clumsiness and her love of books. Not to mention her personality and how she overcomes being bullied. Mason… wow Mason. Ohhh he was everything you’d want in a love interest, in my opinion. He was always in Erin’s corner. Supporting her, encouraging her to fight back and not take the crap that the bullies were throwing at her. He had that bad boy vibe about him too which I loved… the reformed bad boy with a heart of gold. Monica (Erin’s guardian) and Grams (Mason’s grandma) were really likeable characters too. They were both so lovely and reminded me of my own nannas.
I was totally engrossed by this book. There is a major plot twist that I just wasn’t expecting and it had me hanging on the edge of my seat with my heart in my mouth! For a time I was worried that suicide, or attempted suicide, may happen in the story, but something entirely different happened and it’s not something I’ve come across a great deal in the books I’ve read. I really like that Olivia Rose wrote about it though as it really does resonate with what seems to be happening more and more in the US today.
This was a fantastic read that I definitely recommend you go out and buy! It is released 26th March and is available to pre-order now!
* This ARC was given to me in exchange for an honest review.
** This book was previously written under the pen name Sloane Murphy.
“I’d woken up to find myself in a different world and a different time. If this wasn’t confusing enough, there was now a stupidly handsome, half-naked guy standing before me, barely covered by a tartan blanket. A minute ago, he had been a stag running for his life.
Glen McGarrick is a cheeky Jacobite rebel from 1745. He’s also cursed by a fairy queen.
Skye Lennox is a twenty-first century teen who should be dead, but isn’t. Instead, she’s woken up in a world where magic still lingers, evil fairies demand ritual sacrifices, everyone hates the English, and the corsetry is too damned tight.
Bound by their shared secrets, Skye and Glen embark on a mission to get Skye home before the evil English Duke ensnares Skye along with all his other pretty little creatures.“
I never fail to be transported into the worlds that Katie M. John creates. A beautiful novella about time travel, love and magic. I loved the chemistry between Skye and Glen. Old Meg was a great, mysterious character that I would love to have known more about. I would also love to have known more about the dark fairy, glen and just delved more into the their backstories and history. It was such a lovely read that I didn’t want it to end! It’s perfect if you’re after a short read and is part of The Seasons’ Fairy Tales collection.
‘We all know someone like Becca.
She has the job everyone wants, a designer wardrobe, a hot-shot lawyer boyfriend, holidays to exotic locations. And she flaunts her perfect life all over social media.
It drove her colleague Lizzie mad, but she couldn’t stop looking. They were never really friends – and yet Lizzie knew everything about her.
Or did she?
When chance, and a terrible mistake, pulls Lizzie back into Becca’s orbit years after they lost touch, she’ll realise that you can’t always believe what you see online… and that finding out the truth might be the worst thing you can do.
There’s no such thing as a perfect life. Only a perfect lie.’
I love a good thriller and this really keeps you guessing. Although I had my suspicions, I never truly knew until that fatal last 24 hours or so. What really threw me off as to who’d done it was that the story had been written from two view points, being made to believe one character more so than the other. To me, that was genius! It was a fantastic read and excellently written. I loved the twists, with an ending so unexpected it made my jaw drop!
Thank you to Sarah Alderson and Mulholland for this ARC in return for an honest review.
For ages now I’ve seen on social media people having blind dates with books and have so desperately wanted to have one of my own! So imagine my excitement a few days ago when I saw on Facebook that my local library was doing one! A blind date with a book is basically how it sounds. A book is wrapped up in possibly brown paper so that you have no idea what book you’re going to read, apart from maybe the genre. I tagged my mother in-law in the post as I knew she’d be interested too and the following we popped down to our library to pick up our date.
The parcel above is the book I’d chosen. Each book is given a letter so that the folk at the library know what you’re reading but you don’t know until you unwrap it.
Say helloooo to my blind date….
I’m really enjoying it so far and I’m just about to start chapter 5. I unattractively snort laughed at the Wales and rain reference coz it’s so bloody true!
I swear we see more rain than sunshine here in Pembrokeshire! Our little town is near both the beach AND the mountains so this little reference was spot on lol! If you ever visit Pembrokeshire, don’t forget to pack a rain coat and wellies! Coz you Will need them. 😂
I hope you’re all having a lovely weekend. I’m now going to continue enjoying my date whilst having Dancing on Ice playing in the background. Anyone else watching it? Love me some ice skating!
When close friends May and Tom take a walk through the snow covered woods, May has no idea how truly magical, and dangerous, things are about to get.
When she wakes up badly injured in lavish but unfamiliar surroundings, she begins to understand that nothing is once what it was – and sometimes, as beautiful as the snow can be, it can be cruel.
Finding herself trapped in a terrible fairytale, May must find a way to get home before she is trapped there forever.
Please note that this is a 3/4 novel of 30,000 words.
It is an upper YA/Crossover timeslip / worldslip story with modern fairytale elements.
Well, what are you waiting for? Go onnnn snag yourselves a copy and get lost in this amazing and magical story!
Hey all. Sorry I’ve been MIA for a couple of weeks. My little girl and I went back to my home town to spend some quality time with family and friends and to also celebrate my mum’s birthday. We had such an amazing time, it was so great seeing everyone again. I even got to pop into my old work and have a catch up with some of my ex colleagues! Of course they all adored Willow who was chatty and cheeky and walked round like she owned the place. 😂
Anyway, onto today’s post…
