Six months have gone by since having Willow, my body and hormones seem to have gone back to normal and unfortunately that means the ghastly and horrid return of the period! Dum! Dum! Dum! Can’t say I was particularly thrilled about that but at least it’s a sign that all is A-ok down there so I suppose I’ll forgive it. This also meant I got to re-subscribe to Pink Parcel! Yay! Receiving something like this once a month when your periods are just making you feel pooey, is just what you need to brighten your day. I highly recommend it! So, without further a do…
Look what goodies were in my Pink Parcel box this month! Other than the usual monthly “necessities”, I got:

Oh my gosh how dinky and cute are these mini lip vinyls?! The lovely folk at Kiss Cosmetics kindly sent me a mini lip vinyl in ‘First Kiss’ to review and I was more than happy to do so. It’s taken me a little longer to do my review due to moving away, settling in and having a baby on the way but whew I have finally found a moment to sit down, have a natter and tell you all about it. On with the review…
At just over 4cm in height and aprox 1cm in diameter, they are a lovely little size to fit into a small bag on a night out and are also perfectly travel sized for taking on holiday! And at £2 each, they won’t break the bank if you fancy buying a couple to see which shade suits you best. They may be small but they still manage to pack a big punch of colour. Even before I was sent this to review, I was already a fan of Kiss Cosmetics’ lip vinyls as they are so pigmented just like a lipstick, and though they glide on like a gloss, I find they last much longer. I already own their lip vinyl in the shade ‘Vinyl Lady in Red’ (and also have the matching Kisstick!) but this is my first time trying the mini ones. I have to admit, that with this particular mini, once applied, was a little patchy on my lips (prior to applying, I had used a lip scrub to get rid of any dead skin and make my lips smooth). I think this may be down to the small applicator though as I don’t get the same problem with the normal size lip vinyls. I had to put several coats of this on and lightly went over with my finger to even out the patchiness.
On me, the shade turned out to be a Barbie-pink kind of colour (though the photo was taken in natural light, I still couldn’t quite get it to depict the actual colour but it’s fairly close). A great shade if you have lighter hair, I think. I am going to carry on using this as I think maybe practice makes perfect when it comes to the mini applicator.
Have any of you tried out these lip vinyls or any of Kiss Cosmetics’ products before? What do you think?
How’s your bank hol weekend going? I have spent mine in Wales visiting my boyfriend and am currently on the train home. The last time I was at my boyfriend’s, I’d left some of my favourite makeup there but have now been reunited with it, yay! I couldn’t be bothered to put any makeup on today, however, but I had really missed my Lip & Cheeks stick by My Little Beauty so I couldn’t resist putting some of this on my lips. I just love the shade and how natural it looks.
What do you think?
My boyfriend and I went to see Avengers – Age of Ultron at the weekend. I really enjoyed it! I think the funnies were a little try-hard at times but still made me laugh. I’m a fan of Joss Whedon’s work so I guess I’m a little biased haha.
We also went to our usual haunt, Frankie & Benny’s, before the film started but I didn’t get to have Brownies and Ice-cream this time as we were worried we’d miss the beginning of the film! 😔
I randomly took this photo whilst in F&B’s:
Enjoy the rest of your day! My train is currently stuck in the middle of nowhere and has technical “issues”. I really hope we’re not waiting too long!
Congrats to Abi for reaching 250 followers!
So I’ve been blogging since January and I’m so happy to announce that as of last week I now have 250 followers! To me this is such an achievement and I really want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I didn’t think I would get so many followers so quickly, its been a lot of work – but reading your comments everyday makes it more than worth it – and I cant believe how much fun it all is haha! I can’t tell you how much all of your support has meant to me and I just want to say thank you to each and every one of you. As a little way of saying thank you and to celebrate I’m doing a little giveaway. Its not huge since I’m a student and I don’t have a massive budget but I hope whoever wins really enjoys…

I am spending my Sunday catching up on some reading. It’s been a while since I’ve had a proper read and there’s a book that I’ve been reading bit by bit for the past couple of months.
Now this is a fab read (I’m over half way through) and is inspired by The Nutcracker. The only reason it’s taking me a while to read is because I haven’t really had that overwhelming urge to read. You know what I mean? I seem to be going through a phase I can’t seem to concentrate on reading, it’s like I’ve lost my reading mojo or something lol. So for the past couple of days I’ve been making a concerted effort to get back into reading.
As well as reading my book, I have also painted my nails.
The nail polish came free with my Cosmo mag (I haven’t read a magazine in quite a long time so I thought it would make a nice change to read one on the way home from London the other week). 😀 I initially thought this was a shade of red but it seems to shift between red and orange, dependant on the light. The polish did take a little while to dry but dried to a lovely shiny effect once it had.
Right now, I’ve taken a break from reading because Labyrinth is on TV. Yay!! I love this film and have been brought up watching it since I was a kid, thanks to my dad! It’s quite ironic that it’s on today as last night I’d been looking at this amazing site that makes Labyrinth inspired items! These are some of the items I’d love to buy if I had the pennies:
Goblin King! Is it just me or did anyone else find David Bowie sexy as the Goblin King?
I just want it all to be honest. They are all so beautifully detailed and look just like they’ve stepped out of the film!
If you’d like to check out more of the items then you can find the site Here! They’re all lovingly handmade by the amazing Alyson Tabbitha who I actually discovered on DeviantArt after coming across some amazing crystal sword necklaces that she’s made which are also available on her site.
Right, time for me to get back to watching Labyrinth and wishing that I had my very own Ludo and Worm! Enjoy your Sunday! 😀
Hi all! I hope you’re all having a lovely weekend so far. Personally, I’m longing for the weekend. As always.
I was wondering if any of you could help me. I am on the look-out for a matte eyeshadow palette but not sure which to go for. I’ve looked at so many from all kinds of price ranges. I nearly bought a cheap one by W7 but there were mixed reviews and some claiming that the pigmentation was poor so that got a thumbs down from me. I thought about getting one of the Naked Basic palettes and even fell in love with a quad palette by Charlotte Tilbury but in both cases ummed and ahhed due to their price tag. I don’t mind paying it – if it’s worth it. So this is where you guys come in … what would you suggest? Be they affordable or expensive, what palette is your holy grail?
Ok, I had a makeup splurge! I had never tried YSL makeup before but had heard so many good things about the brand in general and I had been wanting the Touché Éclat for the longest time so I thought, “Eh! What the hell! Go for it!” So I took the plunge! I was initially going to buy the touché éclat from Boots’ online site but then thought I’d just go direct and I’m so glad I did! Why? Well I got freebies! And who doesn’t like freebies! I bought the Touché Éclat (in the shade 1.5 as I’m pale but not ghost-like plus I have yellow undertones) and the Rouge Pur Couture Vernis À Lèvres Glossy Stain in shade 35. When I got to the check-out I realised I’d qualified for some freebies! Woohoo! This consisted of:
2 x Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils samples
2 x Black Opium samples
1 x Forever Youth Liberator sample
1 x Dessin De Lèvres – lip liner in shade 6
1 x Top Secrets Eye Makeup Remover
I was so excited to see the YSL parcel waiting for me when I got back from my trip to London (more about my trip in a later post). It was like Christmas Day all over again with the freebies and all! Here are the goodies:
The first thing I thought when I saw the shade in person was, “Eek! It’s bright pink!” as I was expecting a more softer, natural pink.
Ok, so the inner of my arm is more pale than the actual shade but it worked quite well with my face’s skin tone. I think if I’d got the lighter shade, it would have washed me out.
And here are the freebies:
I gave one of the perfume samples to my mum as I knew she’d love it! Dad bought her a bottle of the original Opium around 30 years ago and she still has the bottle sat on her dresser to this day! The lip liner is more plum-y than bright pink like the lip stain but that’s ok with me, it tones down the colour a little.
Here’s me wearing the wearing my YSL gloss stain and touché éclat:
So what do you think? Have any of you guys tried YSL? Do you love it? Hate it? Comment below! I hope you’re all having a lovely weekend! I’m home for the next few weekends which sadly means I won’t be seeing my boyfriend but it does mean I can concentrate on my proofreading so yay!
To celebrate reaching 250 followers, the Beautiful, Breakable is doing a fabulous giveaway! Hop on over and enter!
I have always taken care of my skin but am wanting to purchase a cleansing system that will cleanse my skin far deeper and more thorough than I can ever do. So I went on a hunt and have narrowed down my search to 2 products; the Clarisonic Mia 2 and the Foreo Luna (in blue for combination skin). For quite some time, now, I’ve had the Clarisonic range on my wish list but then I came across the Foreo Luna and was intrigued, especially as you don’t have to change heads so it saves on more expense. Can anyone advise me as to which I should go for? Have any of you used both and prefer one over the other? I’d be really grateful to hear your views.
