Korean style sheet masks, French braid pigtails and Today’s Makeup!

Hey guys! How’s it going? So last night I thought I’d give myself a pampering session and try out a Korean style sheet mask that I’d gotten in one of my Pink Parcel sub boxes a few months back.

Can I just say how delicious it smelled? Made me wanna eat my own face haha!

Face mask on! Not the most flattering of looks, I know.

I had to wait 20 mins for the mask to work its magic. Then take it off, gently pat the left over gel into my face, and rinse off. It claims to be moisturising and brightening, and it smooths and tightens the skin. My face didn’t feel any tighter but it certainly moisturised it and it looked smooth. I can’t get over how soft my skin felt!! Even Aled commented on how soft it was! Would definitely use this mask again!

I figured washing my hair AFTER the face mask would be an ideal time to do it. After I washed my hair I decided I’d have a go at French braiding my hair. I have to say, I haven’t done this in years and years! I attempted French braided pigtails. I probably haven’t done this since college so that really is quite some years ago! Whenever I do my own hair, I never use a mirror. My eyes get confused haha. So I do it blind. And I don’t use a comb either when I French braid my own hair. It’s just too fiddly! I can do it on other people though because I can see what I’m doing! Anyway, it took me about 10 minutes to do (I had to backtrack a couple of times because it was too loose on places or I’d missed some hair) and I was pretty pleased with the outcome!

I left them in overnight so that my hair would be curly when I took them out today. Have to admit, I kinda didn’t wanna take them out lol. I quite liked them! Thought I would also put a little bit of makeup on today so went for a natural look. Used my ABH Modern Renaissance palette today and I loved how my eyeshadow turned out but sadly didn’t get a decent pic of it because it wasn’t until I’d taken my pics that I’d realised I’d bodged up my eyeliner. Oops! Also wearing my fave lippy today: Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipstick in Celebrity Skin.

Makeup on, now time to take those French braided pigtails out!

Snapchat fun!

I was quite impressed with how the curls turned out! Think I’ll be doing this again for sure! My hair has gotten so long! It’s in dire need of a cut and plenty of layers put back in!

That’s all for today guys. Take care!

Makeup Revolution Retro Luxe Metallic Lip Kit Review.

Hiya! How’s your Sunday going? I’m full of cold so feeling a bit under the weather today but thought I’d pop by and post a review. Yesterday I came across a review that Amy from Little Lost Bee did about her Makeup Revolution Metallic Lip Kit and it reminded me that I had one myself but had forgotten all about it so thought I’d have a bit of a play today to see how it faired.

The shade itself is beautiful! It’s a metallic deep purple. When I bought it I thought it might be a dupe for Jeffree Star’s No Tea, No Shade but the Revolution one has more of a reddy tone to it.

That being said, it could just be my own lip colour that’s giving it that reddy tone haha. I love the shade but the staying power isn’t great. I was expecting the lip pencil to help with that but it didn’t at all. The pencil had more of a lipstick consistency to it and the liquid lipstick is more of a gloss and doesn’t really dry like I thought it would, so if I touched it, it just came off on my fingers. I’m a bit disappointed with it to be honest but it is only my first time wearing it so I may give it another chance as I do love the colour.

I apologise for my selfies today. The lighting wasn’t great due to the dreary, rainy weather we’ve been having. My brows were not my friend today either haha. 🙈

Have any of you tried this lip kit before? What do you think? I think maybe my expectations were a little high after trying Lime Crime’s matte and metallic Velvetines and Jeffree Star’s Velour liquid lipsticks.

My favourite eyeshadow palette – Morphe 35F.

Photo taken from the Morphe Brushes website

Hey all! How’s your Friday? Today I thought I’d have a play with my Morphe 35F palette and share the look. I actually think I love this palette more than my ABH Modern Renaissance palette! There isn’t much fallout from the Morphe eyeshadows (unlike Modern Renaissance) and they are sooo buttery and easy to work with!

There are some really gorgeous shades in this palette. Perfect for autumn time! I love wearing them any time of the year though. The palette is currently available from Beauty Bay for £22.50. If you’re after a new eyeshadow palette then definitely check out the Morphe ones. I’d loooove to get more! Do any of you own a Morphe palette? Which ones do you have?

Medusa’s Makeup Lipstick Review.

Hey guys! How’s your Tuesday going? Today I’m going to talk about a great cruelty free cosmetics brand called Medusa’s Makeup. Their products are also vegan friendly. Yay! I first discovered this brand on Facebook! I was drawn to their bright lipstick/eyeshadow shades and, most importantly, that they are vegan. They were kind enough to send me a lipstick to review (you may have seen my previous post) and,  just so you know, all opinions are my own. 😀 I would never be dishonest about a product that I’m reviewing. Now, on to the review…

Above I am wearing Medusa’s lipstick in the shade Triple X. The bright pink is quite the show stopper and will certainly get you noticed! The formulation is gorgeous and so creamy! It’s so moisturising and the pigmentation is amazing! After taking this pic I blotted it and had something to eat and drink and the colour was still so bright! As you can see below:

As you can see, it’s faded a little at the edges and towards the middle of my lips but it’s still going strong! I’d say I had to reapply about 3 hours after the first application which is actually quite good going in my opinion. Overall, I really love this lippy and would definitely like try out more shades!

Medusa’s Makeup also do a monthly subscription box. How fab is that?! You guys know I looove me a subscription box! Would definitely consider buying one of these in the future!
You should pop on by to Medusa’s Makeup and check their products out for yourself! Their prices are really affordable and for us who don’t live in the US it’s free international delivery on orders over $40.

A sneaky makeup peak…

A sneaky peak as to what’s coming up on the blog! 😀 Thank you Medusa’s Makeup! I can’t wait to share this with you guys!

Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter review.

I love Makeup Revolution’s vivid baked highlighter in golden lights. You can use a quick swirl of the highlighter for a natural glow, giving a flawless look to your skin. Sooo easy to apply and blend. You literally only need a tiny bit for that subtle glow or a little bit more to really blind them!

Dare I say it’s better than Jeffree Star’s Skin Frosts?? Yes! And at £3 it’s a fraction of the cost! I shall definitely be purchasing again! On my eyes I’ve used the Jeffree Star Androgyny palette and on my lips the Morphe liquid lipstick in School Girl.

I bought my Vivid Baked Highlighter from Superdrug but you can also purchase it online from Tam Beauty.

Note: The makeup products I have used are either cruelty free or vegan! 😀 🐰

MOTD – Freedom Jewels And Riches palette!

Because my lips are still recovering from an allergic reaction to a lip plumper, I don’t feel confident wearing makeup at the mo and sharing the looks so I thought I’d share another look that I did a few weeks ago. I’d recently bought a Freedom eyeshadow palette so couldn’t wait to give it a whirl!   My brows aren’t quite on point but fairly pleased with the overall look. I used shades Moonstone, Rose and Revelation from my Freedom Jewels And Riches palette and Jeffree Star’s liquid lippy in Sagittarius on my lips. 😀 Loving the Freedom eyeshadow palette. It’s quite pigmented and for £8 you can’t go wrong! What are your favourite eyeshadow palettes? Do you own any from this brand? Let me know in the comments below!

Frisky Fucshia Kisstick by KISS Cosmetics! 💄

Some of you may already know that last month in the UK, a new cosmetics brand was born: Kiss Cosmetics. What’s more, they love our furry friends so all their products are animal cruelty free. Yay! For all you lippie lovers out there, they are specifically focusing on lip products that will make our lips look luscious and lovely (see what I tried to do there? 😝) Over the past few weeks I have excitedly watched as the brand revealed each new product and released them onto their site to be purchased. This is still ongoing as they have lots of exciting products still to come. Their newest product being The Scrub Stick which is a lip scrub in a balm. –  I can’t wait to try this! Anyhoo … as soon as the site went live, I raced over there and put all the products I loved onto my wish list on the site and, once payday came around, I immediately went and ordered a couple of bits:

• Locked Lips (a lipstick sealant) £3.50
• Lip Vinyl in the shade Lady In Red £7.00
•Kisstick in Frisky Fuschia £7.00
I thought the prices were pretty reasonable and delivery was only £2!
I shall be reviewing all of the products above but the one I’m reviewing today is the Kisstick! What can I say? I love it!

It is bright pink and oh my gosh it is so highly pigmented! It is a lovely creamy formula which makes my lips feel soft and moisturised. The colour lasts for several hours, although less if you’ve eaten or drunk something but then that goes without saying. That being said, even when the colour does fade, you’re still left with this strong pinky tint on your lips! It really is a gorgeous lipstick! I was so impressed by it. I’m not normally a pink girl but I went for this colour because I wanted a change. And it was totally worth it!
Next on my list? Scrub Stick!! And I think I’ll also buy a more neutral tone of the Kisstick to see if the pigment and staying power is just as awesome. Althoough the Kisstick in the shade Magnetic Melon is just calling out to me! It had me from the name! I love the names that are given to the Kissticks and Lip Vinyls.
For example: First Kiss, Birthday Suit and Seductive Damson. By the way, each Lip Vinyl shade perfectly matches each Kisstick shade! So this takes the guess work out if you love to top off your lipstick with a matching gloss. However, both are fabulous all on their own! More on the Lip Vinyl next time!

My Souksouk Sleep Box Has Arrived!

IMG_3032.JPG
When I saw that logo on my parcel I got so excited. Yaaaay my SoukSouk sleep box is finally here!!

I open it and this is what I first see:

IMG_3033.JPG
Oooh those lavender sleep patches look intriguing. Can’t wait to try those! That wasn’t all that was in it though! Nope! Under some more packaging I found all these goodies:

IMG_3035.JPG
My gosh I was so excited that these lovely goodies were in my possession! So far I have tried the Aloe Vera and Ylang Ylang bubble bath/shower gel. It smells divine! After my bath (which sadly was luke warm due to the boiler konking out but hey ho) I tried out the Sleep Tight Body Cream. There is a definite lavender-ness about it and there’s another yummy herbal-y smell to it too…lush! Before I go to bed tonight I’m gonna pop some sleep balm on my temples and sweet dreams roller ball on my wrists. Ooh and those sleep patches on my feet. Fingers crossed that I shall have the best night sleep EVER tonight! I had gastritis last week and have been suffering from insomnia since last Thursday so all being well this will help! Wish me luck!

I’ve discovered a green beauty gem!

Whilst searching for a beauty box (makeup/beauty case, whatever you wanna call it) on the ‘net due to wanting all my makeup to be in one place and more organised, I surprisingly came across a site called Souksouk.

IMG_2835.PNG

It’s a fab little site that sends you a “little green beauty box” each month filled with beautiful “green” goodies which are organic and -yay!- animal cruelty free!

IMG_2836.PNG

You can buy a one off box or you can buy a quarterly, six monthly or yearly subscription. You can also see what was sent in previous boxes so that you have an idea of the type of things you’ll get. At the moment they’re doing a limited edition “Beauty Sleep Box” which I have personally ordered as I do have trouble sleeping. I can’t wait to try it out!

If you like your green, organic and animal friendly beauty and makeup products then this site is definitely worth checking out!
