It was a birthday gift and was bought from Beauty Bay. It is such a gorgeous palette with beautiful shades of golds, browns and nudes. I love that it has both matte and shimmer shades in it. The pigment in the shades is fantastic and the formula is soft and buttery. There is a little fall out but putting some translucent powder under your eye area before you start your eye makeup will take care of that then once you’re done, you can brush it away and none will be left on your foundation. Would definitely recommend this palette plus at £22, it’s not a bad price either! Especially if you compare it to Urban Decay’s Naked palettes!
I was also bought a Morphe Brushes brush set for Christmas too. I used them today to do this look and they’re amazing! They’re so soft and it’s so easy to apply shadow and blend using these brushes! If you’re looking for a new set, I’d definitely recommend these!
The other day I thought I’d have a play around with some new makeup that I’d received over the Christmas period. I don’t really get much chance nowadays but thought I’d grab a spare moment whilst Willow had her nap.
All products are cruelty free and some are also vegan which I’ve put in brackets next to the products.
💜 Primer: Illuminate and Glow correcting primer by Pür Cosmetics (vegan)
💜 Foundation: Matte Clay Skin Clarifying foundation by The Body Shop (vegan)
💜 Eyeshadow: Shade and Light Contour Quad eyeshadow palette in Rust Kat Von D (vegan)
Style Eye-Con No. 7 Eyeshadow palette in Starlet using the rose gold metallic shade by Marc Jacobs
💜 Mascara: Beyond Limitations mascara in Jet Black by Saturated Colour
💜 Lipstick: Powerful Color Natural Lipstick in the shade Tender Heart by Pacifica (vegan)
💜 Setting Spray: Glowsetter setting spray by Glamglow
I am absolutely bowled over with the eyeshadow palettes! I am no longer a KVD or MJ virgin! The KVD palette is so buttery and soft and the MJ palette is gorgeously pigmented. What I will say about the style eye-con palette is that there is better colour pay-off when you apply with your finger! It is such a gorgeous metallic rose gold shade that I just know I’ll be reaching for all the time. Can’t wait to try out the other shades in the palette though!
The Pacifica lippy is such a pretty shade and is quite longwearing too! I think it may have converted me back to using lipsticks again rather than liquid lippy! I also love that the brand focuses on natural ingredients! This is another brand I’ve not tried before and as well as the eyeshadow palettes named above, I received it in my Christmas swap box that I spoke of in my blog post here. Check it out to find out what else was inside! I would love to try more of their products and hope they ship to the UK!
Have you used any of the products? What do you think to them? Let me know in the comments below.
I would just like to add, that I discovered Glamglow is NOT entirely cruelty-free as they test on animals when required by law (normally this means that they’re trading in mainland China). I actually feel quite disappointed by this considering how the brand started out. 🙁
I love this time of year when the leaves are falling off the trees and are beautiful autumnal colours of reds, golden yellows and burnt oranges. I also love that it’s Halloween season which means that I can wear my fave Lime Crime lippy in Pumpkin Pie and know that no one will bat an eye lid! Not that I wouldn’t wear it any other time of the year but October is the perfect excuse! So I thought I would share with you a makeup look that I did a couple of days ago.
Excuse my gormless face hahaha some very serious looking poses going on there. 😂
I have also used my Jeffree Star Androgyny eyeshadow palette for my eyes and my Younique brow pencil on my brows (well obv. 🙄 I mean, where else would you use it). What do you think? Do you have any favourite makeup looks for Fall/Autumn/Halloween?
I still don’t know what I’m doing for Halloween yet or how I’ll do my makeup if we do decide to do something. I haven’t even got an outfit in mind! I left my favourite outfit at my parents which I’m quite gutted about! Oh well, I’ll figure it out somehow!
That’s it’s for today guys. I hope you’re all well and having a great weekend! Bye for now!
The lovely Jasmine at Jazzy Jems kindly sent me one of her handmade bracelets in return for an honest review. I love handmade things so how could I not oblige? 🙂. It came in the mail today and it’s so darn cute!
Jasmine can customise the bracelets so you can choose silver or coloured beads, what charms you’d like and also the length of the bracelet so that it’ll be the perfect fit for you or a loved one. I went for coloured beads because they are more me!
They are so pretty and kinda remind me of mermaids! I love that it’s a mixture of colours that compliments each other really. Because the bracelets are thin, they’d look fab if you wore a few together with different charms on!
If you’re looking for a cute jewellery gift for someone then definitely check out Jasmine’s Facebook page. There you’ll find other bracelets that she’s done as well as rings too!
OMG Beauty Bay has finally stocked the 35R palette! I’ve been dreaming about this beauty! It’s so gorgeous!
Look at those shades! The beige/nude shade is gonna make those shimmers pop! I’ve been admiring this on the Morphe website so I’m so excited that Beauty Bay finally has it in stock! Now I just need to drop major hints for someone to buy me it for my birthday lol!
Hiya! How are you all on this fine Wednesday? I thought I’d share with you all the goodies I got from Beauty Bay.
As you can see, it wasn’t a big haul, or that interesting haha, but I just needed to top up on some bits I was running low on.
I’ve been using Gerard Cosmetics setting spray but felt it really wasn’t cutting it (not worth the hype, that’s for sure) so wanted to try something different and thought I’d give the L. A. Girl HD Matte setting spray a go. It is also cruelty free, paraben and fragrance free which are all pluses in my book!
The second item that I bought from Beauty Bay was this Pomegranate sheet mask by Vitamasques. I’d recently blogged about their Acai Berry sheet mask which left my skin feeling so lush so of course I absolutely had to try out one of their others! I hope this will be just as yummy smelling as the Acai Berry mask was!
I’d ran out of my Lush Tea Tree toner so my last item is the Skin & Tonic London Rose Mist. I had specifically been looking for a rose water/toner because it is sooo good for your skin! This has only FOUR INGREDIENTS in it:
1. Rosa Centifolia (Rose) Flower Water
3. Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate
4. Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe) Leaf Juice Powder
How fantastic is that? No nasties whatsoever! I’m such a lover of natural skin care; I couldn’t not buy this! Rose water has so many benefits too! It’s an anti-inflammatory so reduces redness, relieves eczema as well as other skin conditions and helps fight acne. It’s also good at reducing stress/anxiety levels and supposedly helps with depression.
Well that’s it for today lovelies. Have you tried any of these products? Got any natural skin care recommendations? Feel free to leave me a comment below. 😀
Part II: Chemical X-ray – Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick Colour Queen B – What is inside and what does it do?
I don’t know about you but I’m really interested in what each ingredients in my beauty products do so I found this blog post really interesting and wanted to share it with you all. Warning: grab a cup of coffee or tea and get comfy! 😀
As a chemist and beauty junkie, I always look through the ingredients in products, most often out of curiosity, especially on products that worked really well. Since the Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick colour Queen B worked so well for me, where a lot of others and other brands failed, I decided to look into its ingredients in detail.
I wrote this down in case this is something that helps or interests you too, with explanations on what each ingredient is doing in the lipstick. This way you can get a better idea of what is doing what and why this lipstick works or doesn’t for you. You don’t need to be a chemist or scientist to understand, I am hoping that I explained everything to be easily understandable by anyone during a coffee break.
If you like this concept let me know and I will make this a…

Hiya! Wow I can’t believe the week is nearly over! Today’s look is a really simple one. I really didn’t feel like going the whole hog with makeup today so just went for a bare face with a coat of mascara and a bold lip. The mascara I’ve been using lately is Roller Lash by Benefit. I love this mascara! There’s no clumps and it beautifully separates the lashes! The lippy I chose to wear today is a liquid lipstick by Morphe Brushes in the shade “Morphe”.
The shade is actually brighter than I thought it would be when I first ordered it. The lip swatch on the site made it look to be more of a deep blood red. However, I still really love this shade! The formula of this lipstick is lovely. It goes on so smoothly and doesn’t feel drying at all. It’s got such a lovely scent as well. Vanilla, I think. The staying power is fantastic although it does fade in the centre of the lips when you eat/drink. I found that after wearing it for while it doesn’t crumble like some other brands do. I did find though that it bleeds a little. I think that’s quite common with reds in general mind. I’ve yet to find a red that doesn’t bleed.
I think this will be my go-to statement lippy. I absolutely love it!
I purchased mine from Beauty Bay. At the time there was a sale and it was on offer for around £6.50 but it’s current price is £10.50.
Can I just say how delicious it smelled? Made me wanna eat my own face haha!
I had to wait 20 mins for the mask to work its magic. Then take it off, gently pat the left over gel into my face, and rinse off. It claims to be moisturising and brightening, and it smooths and tightens the skin. My face didn’t feel any tighter but it certainly moisturised it and it looked smooth. I can’t get over how soft my skin felt!! Even Aled commented on how soft it was! Would definitely use this mask again!
I figured washing my hair AFTER the face mask would be an ideal time to do it. After I washed my hair I decided I’d have a go at French braiding my hair. I have to say, I haven’t done this in years and years! I attempted French braided pigtails. I probably haven’t done this since college so that really is quite some years ago! Whenever I do my own hair, I never use a mirror. My eyes get confused haha. So I do it blind. And I don’t use a comb either when I French braid my own hair. It’s just too fiddly! I can do it on other people though because I can see what I’m doing! Anyway, it took me about 10 minutes to do (I had to backtrack a couple of times because it was too loose on places or I’d missed some hair) and I was pretty pleased with the outcome!
I left them in overnight so that my hair would be curly when I took them out today. Have to admit, I kinda didn’t wanna take them out lol. I quite liked them! Thought I would also put a little bit of makeup on today so went for a natural look. Used my ABH Modern Renaissance palette today and I loved how my eyeshadow turned out but sadly didn’t get a decent pic of it because it wasn’t until I’d taken my pics that I’d realised I’d bodged up my eyeliner. Oops! Also wearing my fave lippy today: Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipstick in Celebrity Skin.
I was quite impressed with how the curls turned out! Think I’ll be doing this again for sure! My hair has gotten so long! It’s in dire need of a cut and plenty of layers put back in!
That’s all for today guys. Take care!
