Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter review.

I love Makeup Revolution’s vivid baked highlighter in golden lights. You can use a quick swirl of the highlighter for a natural glow, giving a flawless look to your skin. Sooo easy to apply and blend. You literally only need a tiny bit for that subtle glow or a little bit more to really blind them!

Dare I say it’s better than Jeffree Star’s Skin Frosts?? Yes! And at £3 it’s a fraction of the cost! I shall definitely be purchasing again! On my eyes I’ve used the Jeffree Star Androgyny palette and on my lips the Morphe liquid lipstick in School Girl.

I bought my Vivid Baked Highlighter from Superdrug but you can also purchase it online from Tam Beauty.

Note: The makeup products I have used are either cruelty free or vegan! 😀 🐰

World Friendship Day has been and gone but friends last forever!

Sunday was World Friendship day so I surprised my bestie of 17 years, Kat, with a yummy selection box from Hotel Chocolat! Yesterday the postie knocks at my door with a parcel! It was a gift from Kat! She’d got me back hahaha!

Aren’t they gorgeous?! She knows me so well! Now I just need some pretty candles to go in them! Any suggestions on the perfect candles for these holders?

The Indie Book Nook!

I have so much love for Indie authors (some of my fave books are by Indie authors!) so I think this is such a fabulous idea!

The Write Nook

It’s finally happening!!!!!

I am happy to announce that today the launch page went live for my new book subscription box – The Indie Book Nook

This subscription box service caters specifically to indie authors. It wasn’t until I created an author account on twitter that I discovered so many talented authors who are just starting to or have already self-published. As I beta-read pre-release novels or purchased self-published books on Amazon, it blew my mind that all this time I was missing out on beautifully crafted works of art simply because I didn’t know they existed.

This is a common problem that many authors who choose to self-publish face and I wanted to do something about it but I didn’t know how.

Then I came across an ad online for a book subscription box for newly released hardcover fiction books. And I thought, “Why doesn’t something like this exist…

The Beauty Gift Swap!

Hey guys! How’s your Sunday going? Today I want to post about something I’m a part of and I’d love for you to be a part of it too! I’m admin for  a beauty swap box group on Facebook where each month members are teamed with a buddy and you each put together a box filled with lovely beauty, skincare products and other little gifts that you think your buddy will like. The amount you want to spend on your swap box gifts is entirely up to you and your buddy!  You don’t have to join in each month, you can just do it the once if you’d like.

It’s lots of fun and it’s great making new friends in the process. If you’d like to join or want to know more then click on one of the pictures to take you to the group. Sadly, because it may be expensive to post to other countries, the group is for UK and Ireland residents only.

E.L.F Flawless Finish Foundation and Volumizing and Defining Mascara Review.

Hey guys! I recently got my hands on the E.L.F Flawless Finish foundation and Volumizing and Defining mascara so I thought I’d let you know what I thought of them. The foundation is of a liquid consistency and I’d say it gives a medium coverage. I really liked this foundation. It went on really well and smelled lovely which is an added bonus! It did go a little patchy but more of a spritz of setting spray on my blender may fix that in the future. The foundation has quite a light feel to once on my skin which is perfect for the this hot weather.

The mascara? I love! There’s no clumpyness and it really did make them more volumised and noticeable! Not that you can tell by my photograph taking skills below  haha but you can definitely tell I’m wearing mascara which, usually, you can’t.

The foundation retails at £7.50 and the mascara retails at £3.00! I purchased them from Superdrug but you can buy direct from E.L.F. There is a wider range of products on E.L.F’s and they can also have some great sales on too so it’s worth checking out!
Do you own any E.L.F products? Let me know in the comments below!

What’s next on my TBR list?

Hey guys! I hope you’re all having a lovely Wednesday! Today I have been wondering what to read next. Since Gone Girl was such a let down for me, I want to read something that would totally suck me in and completely have me lost in its pages. Then I remembered my Mother in-law lending me The Darkest Surrender by Gena Showalter! It’s part of the Lords of the Underworld series and my mother in-law couldn’t rate it highly enough. She absolutely raves about this series and talks about how dreamy one of the characters is. That’s me sold then! I need something that will have me totally engrossed and I think this book may be the one to do it!

It’s actually the 8th book in the series (oops!) but you don’t have to read them in order,  although it does  pain me to start part way through. I hate not starting with the first book in a series. For  those who may be interested, here’s the blurb from Goodreads:

Possessed by the demon of Defeat, Strider cannot lose a challenge without suffering unimaginable pain. For him, nothing stands in the way of victory. Until Kaia, an enchanting Harpy, tempts him to the razor’s edge of surrender.

Known among her people as The Disappointment, Kaia must bring home the gold in the Harpy Games or die. Strider is a distraction she can’t afford because he has an agenda of his own-steal first prize, an ancient godly artifact, before the winner can be named. But as the competition heats up, only one prize will matter-the love neither had thought possible…

I love the sound of this! I’m a big fan of myths/fantasy novels. Can’t wait to get started! Have any of you guys read this series? What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments below.

MOTD – Freedom Jewels And Riches palette!

Because my lips are still recovering from an allergic reaction to a lip plumper, I don’t feel confident wearing makeup at the mo and sharing the looks so I thought I’d share another look that I did a few weeks ago. I’d recently bought a Freedom eyeshadow palette so couldn’t wait to give it a whirl!   My brows aren’t quite on point but fairly pleased with the overall look. I used shades Moonstone, Rose and Revelation from my Freedom Jewels And Riches palette and Jeffree Star’s liquid lippy in Sagittarius on my lips. 😀 Loving the Freedom eyeshadow palette. It’s quite pigmented and for £8 you can’t go wrong! What are your favourite eyeshadow palettes? Do you own any from this brand? Let me know in the comments below!

Juvia’s Place has landed at Beauty Bay!

Yep! That’s right! Beauty Bay are now stocking Juvia’s Place! I’m so excited! I’ve been dying to try their eyeshadow palettes! Their brushes look so cute too! I’ve heard so many great things about this brand! Definitely something I’ll be having a splurge on when I get some spare pennies! Click on the pic to be taken to the site and have a look for yourself! If you buy anything, please let me know. I’d love to hear your thoughts!

MOTD – Jeffree Star’s Androgyny eyeshadow palette and liquid lipstick in Celebrity Skin

It’s been a while since I talked about anything beauty related (my favourite thing next to reading) so I thought I’d share a look I recently did using Jeffree Star’s Androgyny eyeshadow palette and his velour liquid lipstick in Celebrity Skin. I adore this vegan makeup brand. His eyeshadow palettes are super pigmented and his liquid lipsticks stay on for hours. Celebrity Skin is definitely my favourite out of the lippy shades.

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn – Mini Book Review.

I’ve just finished reading Gone Girl. That’s how it ends?! Really?! It’s actually left me feeling quite deflated and disappointed. 🙁 Throughout the book I got so frustrated (in an excited, tell me who did it godamnit, kinda way) and just wanted to cheat and skip right to the end. Then I eventually get there and I’m like… “Oh. Meh.” Kind of annoyed by it, ya know? Wasn’t quite what I was expecting. For me, it’s ended up being that one book that everyone raves about, so you read it, and it doesn’t live up to your expectations. Very anticlimactic. The book in itself was fast paced and kept me glued. I mean, I was bloody reading every chance I got, hoping that karma would make an appearance, but she didn’t and things took a really random turn with an odd ending that felt a bit rushed and sort of like the author was running out of ideas on how to conclude it, or something like that. It just didn’t sit right with me. I feel bad leaving a negative review, especially as people rate this book so highly but, I’m sorry guys, I just didn’t love it. It gets a thumbs down from me.
