Essano Turmeric Cleanser Review.

Every face wash/cleanser that I have used lately (and by “lately” I mean months!) have all irritated my skin and made it sensitive and sore. While having a gander at the natural skincare in TKMaxx (I swear I don’t live there, honest 😂) I came across this turmeric cleanser by a New Zealand skincare brand called essano which contains turmeric, – I guess that was a given 😂 – aloe vera, which is actually second in the ingredients list 😃, olive oil and jojoba. The product claims to brighten and refresh the skin. I’ve been using it a few days now and I haven’t seen any difference yet in the brightness but I’ve certainly felt more refreshed and my skin has felt so smooth and soft. Finally the soreness that I had previously felt has begun to wear off too! This cleanser also has a lovely scent to it! I think we’re on to a winner here, guys! I really am loving this product and will be a staple part of my skincare routine. Essano are also a cruelty free skincare brand yaaaay! However, this particular product contains beeswax so, sadly, not vegan friendly but some of their other products may be.

Rose Quartz Face Mist Review.

I’ve been in need of a new toner for ages. Normally I’ll use a rose mist/water from a certain indie brand but I just couldn’t afford it at £20 a bottle. So whilst having a gander round TK Maxx I came across this rose mist by DA Apothecary (Daylesford Apothecary). It was £6.99 for 100ml which is a great price. Especially as the ingredients are all natural! Before I bought it I dropped them an email because I didn’t know if they were cruelty free (there was no leaping bunny or peta mark). They kindly replied back and said that they were and that more info could be found on their website (I actually did go on their site beforehand but dumbo here is blinder than a bat and couldn’t see it 🙈). I was absolutely thrilled so of course I went out and bought it.

A little bit about the product taken from their website:

“Rose Quartz Range

MAGICAL:

Attracts love and positive relationships, strengthening existing relationships,

Restores confidence, harmony, happiness and fidelity.

MEDICINAL:

Aids chances of fertility

Improving the vertigo

Soothes burns and abrasions

Strengthens the circulatory system

Unlocks impurities of the body fluids.

Refresh yourself with the beautiful Rose Quartz Face & Body spray made with Rose Water and Rose Quartz Crystals.”

The rose quartz crystals was a nice little bonus to the spray (I love rose quartz!) as I’d actually bought it for the benefits that rose water has – it’s an anti-inflammatory and helps keep acne at bay. Rose water is also gentle on the skin so not as harsh as other toners. The spray pump is perfect for use on the face – some spray pumps I find don’t give out enough product and just spray a line instead of a fine mist. I spritz it a few times on my face and a few on my cotton pad then wipe my face with it distributing the product evenly, wiping away any excess dirt and grime. It has a gorgeous rose scent to it and not too strong. I like to use it throughout the day just to freshen me up a bit if I’m feeling a bit tired. I’d definitely recommend this spray as it I’ve been in need of a new toner for ages. Normally I’ll use a rose mist/water from a certain indie brand but I just couldn’t afford it at £20 a bottle. Shay and Blue Black Tulip Perfume Sample.

Shay and Blue’s perfume bottles have such a sophisticated look to them!

As soon as I saw Shay and Blue London had an offer on their Black Tulip sample size I jumped at the chance! It had me at “white chocolate”! Oh my god Black Tulip is absolutely divine! Honestly wish I had smell-o-vision right now, guys!

It has notes of plum, white chocolate, black tulip, cyclamen and snowdrops. I can’t stop smelling myself; it’s such a rich, decadent, sweet and beautiful fragrance! If you wear different perfumes in the daytime than you would at night then I’d definitely say this is the perfect scent for a night out. Particularly if it’s for a romantic dinner!

Normally, the sample sizes are £5, and for 2ml, I’d say that’s quite steep but with the promo code: BLACKTULIP the sample was just £1 with free delivery. I couldn’t grumble at that and it turned out to be so worth it! Would definitely recommend you guys stop on by Shay and Blue to try it out for yourself. You can thank me later! 😀

Morphe Brushes 35R eyeshadow look.

Had a little bit of spare time today so thought I’d do an eyeshadow look using my Morphe 35R eyeshadow palette.

It was a birthday gift and was bought from Beauty Bay. It is such a gorgeous palette with beautiful shades of golds, browns and nudes. I love that it has both matte and shimmer shades in it. The pigment in the shades is fantastic and the formula is soft and buttery. There is a little fall out but putting some translucent powder under your eye area before you start your eye makeup will take care of that then once you’re done, you can brush it away and none will be left on your foundation. Would definitely recommend this palette plus at £22, it’s not a bad price either! Especially if you compare it to Urban Decay’s Naked palettes!

I was also bought a Morphe Brushes brush set for Christmas too. I used them today to do this look and they’re amazing! They’re so soft and it’s so easy to apply shadow and blend using these brushes! If you’re looking for a new set, I’d definitely recommend these!

Morphe Liquid Lipstick in “Morphe”.

Hiya! Wow I can’t believe the week is nearly over! Today’s look is a really simple one. I really didn’t feel like going the whole hog with makeup today so just went for a bare face with a coat of mascara and a bold lip. The mascara I’ve been using lately is Roller Lash by Benefit. I love this mascara! There’s no clumps and it beautifully separates the lashes! The lippy I chose to wear today is a liquid lipstick by Morphe Brushes in the shade “Morphe”.

The shade is actually brighter than I thought it would be when I first ordered it. The lip swatch on the site made it look to be more of a deep blood red. However, I still really love this shade! The formula of this lipstick is lovely. It goes on so smoothly and doesn’t feel drying at all. It’s got such a lovely scent as well. Vanilla, I think. The staying power is fantastic although it does fade in the centre of the lips when you eat/drink. I found that after wearing it for while it doesn’t crumble like some other brands do. I did find though that it bleeds a little. I think that’s quite common with reds in general mind. I’ve yet to find a red that doesn’t bleed.

I think this will be my go-to statement lippy. I absolutely love it!

I purchased mine from Beauty Bay. At the time there was a sale and it was on offer for around £6.50 but it’s current price is £10.50.

Makeup Revolution Retro Luxe Metallic Lip Kit Review.

Hiya! How’s your Sunday going? I’m full of cold so feeling a bit under the weather today but thought I’d pop by and post a review. Yesterday I came across a review that Amy from Little Lost Bee did about her Makeup Revolution Metallic Lip Kit and it reminded me that I had one myself but had forgotten all about it so thought I’d have a bit of a play today to see how it faired.

The shade itself is beautiful! It’s a metallic deep purple. When I bought it I thought it might be a dupe for Jeffree Star’s No Tea, No Shade but the Revolution one has more of a reddy tone to it.

That being said, it could just be my own lip colour that’s giving it that reddy tone haha. I love the shade but the staying power isn’t great. I was expecting the lip pencil to help with that but it didn’t at all. The pencil had more of a lipstick consistency to it and the liquid lipstick is more of a gloss and doesn’t really dry like I thought it would, so if I touched it, it just came off on my fingers. I’m a bit disappointed with it to be honest but it is only my first time wearing it so I may give it another chance as I do love the colour.

I apologise for my selfies today. The lighting wasn’t great due to the dreary, rainy weather we’ve been having. My brows were not my friend today either haha. 🙈

Have any of you tried this lip kit before? What do you think? I think maybe my expectations were a little high after trying Lime Crime’s matte and metallic Velvetines and Jeffree Star’s Velour liquid lipsticks.

My favourite eyeshadow palette – Morphe 35F.

Photo taken from the Morphe Brushes website

Hey all! How’s your Friday? Today I thought I’d have a play with my Morphe 35F palette and share the look. I actually think I love this palette more than my ABH Modern Renaissance palette! There isn’t much fallout from the Morphe eyeshadows (unlike Modern Renaissance) and they are sooo buttery and easy to work with!

There are some really gorgeous shades in this palette. Perfect for autumn time! I love wearing them any time of the year though. The palette is currently available from Beauty Bay for £22.50. If you’re after a new eyeshadow palette then definitely check out the Morphe ones. I’d loooove to get more! Do any of you own a Morphe palette? Which ones do you have?

Medusa’s Makeup Lipstick Review.

Hey guys! How’s your Tuesday going? Today I’m going to talk about a great cruelty free cosmetics brand called Medusa’s Makeup. Their products are also vegan friendly. Yay! I first discovered this brand on Facebook! I was drawn to their bright lipstick/eyeshadow shades and, most importantly, that they are vegan. They were kind enough to send me a lipstick to review (you may have seen my previous post) and,  just so you know, all opinions are my own. 😀 I would never be dishonest about a product that I’m reviewing. Now, on to the review…

Above I am wearing Medusa’s lipstick in the shade Triple X. The bright pink is quite the show stopper and will certainly get you noticed! The formulation is gorgeous and so creamy! It’s so moisturising and the pigmentation is amazing! After taking this pic I blotted it and had something to eat and drink and the colour was still so bright! As you can see below:

As you can see, it’s faded a little at the edges and towards the middle of my lips but it’s still going strong! I’d say I had to reapply about 3 hours after the first application which is actually quite good going in my opinion. Overall, I really love this lippy and would definitely like try out more shades!

Medusa’s Makeup also do a monthly subscription box. How fab is that?! You guys know I looove me a subscription box! Would definitely consider buying one of these in the future!
You should pop on by to Medusa’s Makeup and check their products out for yourself! Their prices are really affordable and for us who don’t live in the US it’s free international delivery on orders over $40.

E.L.F Flawless Finish Foundation and Volumizing and Defining Mascara Review.

Hey guys! I recently got my hands on the E.L.F Flawless Finish foundation and Volumizing and Defining mascara so I thought I’d let you know what I thought of them. The foundation is of a liquid consistency and I’d say it gives a medium coverage. I really liked this foundation. It went on really well and smelled lovely which is an added bonus! It did go a little patchy but more of a spritz of setting spray on my blender may fix that in the future. The foundation has quite a light feel to once on my skin which is perfect for the this hot weather.

The mascara? I love! There’s no clumpyness and it really did make them more volumised and noticeable! Not that you can tell by my photograph taking skills below  haha but you can definitely tell I’m wearing mascara which, usually, you can’t.

The foundation retails at £7.50 and the mascara retails at £3.00! I purchased them from Superdrug but you can buy direct from E.L.F. There is a wider range of products on E.L.F’s and they can also have some great sales on too so it’s worth checking out!
Do you own any E.L.F products? Let me know in the comments below!

Kiss Cosmetics Mini Lip Vinyl in ‘First Kiss’ – Review. 💋💄

Oh my gosh how dinky and cute are these mini lip vinyls?! The lovely folk at Kiss Cosmetics kindly sent me a mini lip vinyl in ‘First Kiss’ to review and I was more than happy to do so. It’s taken me a little longer to do my review due to moving away, settling in and having a baby on the way but whew I have finally found a moment to sit down, have a natter and tell you all about it. On with the review…
At just over 4cm in height and aprox 1cm in diameter, they are a lovely little size to fit into a small bag on a night out and are also perfectly travel sized for taking on holiday! And at £2 each, they won’t break the bank if you fancy buying a couple to see which shade suits you best. They may be small but they still manage to pack a big punch of colour.  Even before I was sent this to review, I was already a fan of Kiss Cosmetics’ lip vinyls as they are so pigmented just like a lipstick, and though they glide on like a gloss, I find they last much longer. I already own their lip vinyl in the shade ‘Vinyl Lady in Red’ (and also have the matching Kisstick!) but this is my first time trying the mini ones. I have to admit, that with this particular mini, once applied, was a little patchy on my lips (prior to applying, I had used a lip scrub to get rid of any dead skin and make my lips smooth). I think this may be down to the small applicator though as I don’t get the same problem with the normal size lip vinyls. I had to put several coats of this on and lightly went over with my finger to even out the patchiness.

Mini Lip Vinyl in ‘First Kiss’

On me, the shade turned out to be a Barbie-pink kind of colour (though the photo was taken in natural light, I still couldn’t quite get it to depict the actual colour but it’s fairly close). A great shade if you have lighter hair, I think. I am going to carry on using this as I think maybe practice makes perfect when it comes to the mini applicator.

Have any of you tried out these lip vinyls or any of Kiss Cosmetics’ products before? What do you think?

Shade: ‘First Kiss’. Click the pic to check out Kiss Cosmetics full range of mini lip vinyls.
