Pretty Little Lairs Season 2 – By Lauren

Oh no not a teen drama! That’s what I thought but NO NO NO it’s fabulous! Glamour with a hint of danger!

This show has already been broadcasted in the US and the UK are over half way through. I actually hadn’t heard of this before as I was more the “Cecily Von Ziegesar” type of girl but Kimi actually recommended this to me and it took me about a week to get through the first season. Then I realized season 2 hadn’t even been released! So Kimi has kindly let me borrow her books!

So yes for those who haven’t heard, PLL is based on the books by Sara Shepard and it currently being shown on MTV 8pm on Thursdays.

So what is it about? It’s about 5 girls in Rosewood, when one night Alison disappears. Ever since her disappearance the girls grew apart until “A” blackmails them as ‘they’ know all their secrets!

So who are the girls?

Alison Dilaurentis – Played by Sasha Pieterse (Heroes and X Men First Class)

Beautiful, blonde, popular who also manipulating as she managed to get all the girls to confide their secrets in her!

Aria Montgomery – Played by Lucy Hale (Sisterhood of Travelling Pants and Privileged)

Aria moved to Iceland with her family and on her return she learned that the secrets were still in Rosewood! Aria is pretty and artistic. Also Aria’s mum is played by Holly Marie Combs ( Charmed)

Hanna  Marin – Played by Ashley Benson (Bring it on and Eastwick)

After a make-over Hanna become the new Queen B. Beautiful,  popular and best friends with a bitch. However the real Hanna is my favourite! I love Ashley Benson!

Spencer Hastings - Troian Bellisario (NCIS)

Spencer has a lot to live up to. Her older sister Melissa, is Miss Perfect and Spencer is always in her shadow! Theres a lot more to Spencer than meets the eye!

Emily Fields Played by Shay Mitchell (Aaron Stone and Rookie Blue)

Ali and Emily had a very close relationship. Emily is a swimmer and is holding a lot of secrets! All is revealed at the end of season 1!

So yes as usual the books are different to the show as with every other series but I really love this show! So if you haven’t check out Season 1 before Season 2 starts on June 14^th!

Gossip Girl S4 Review (Part 2) – By Steph

Hey Guys, thanks for checking back for Part 2 of my series 4 Gossip Girl review! ( Missed part 1? Click here)

So last review we got as far as Everyone going back to New York and about to start college.

So in the first part of the series we focus on a girl named Juliet, who has strong passion for “bringing Serena down” In the episode titled “Undergraduates” we see her first attempt of her preventing Serena from joining the Hamilton House Sorority, but Blair and Serena soon find away to expose Juliet’s scheming ways. Meanwhile, Chuck brings home his French girlfriend Eva, who we spoke about in the last review, however, Chuck does not want to introduce Eva to the family as she does not know of his true past. Another revelation that we face is the truth behind Georgina and Milo as Georgina tells Dan about it. Juliet and Nate start a fling and carry on to be together throughout the majority of the series.

Blair is trying to find a way of breaking up the relationship between Chuck and Eva and starts digging up Eva’s past, she soon finds out that Eva used to be a prostitute and then tries to expose her, she tries on several attempts to break them up but when she is successful it starts a war between herself and Chuck. Juliet’s attempts to bring Serena down further continue by posting to Gossip Girl that Serena has an STD and the later on siding with Vanessa – Vanessa wanted to find out if Serena and Dan slept together and after looking through Serena’s phone Juliet finds out that they did not! However, Juliet and Vanessa send an email to a teacher from her phone offering sex for grades…and it’s goodbye Columbia for Serena!

Blair and Chucks war really heats up when Little J or Jenny Humphrey returns to NYC for a fashion interview. After finding out that Jenny has returned Blair sabotages her interview by ruining her clothes collection…furious after finding out what Blair had done, Jenny posted over Gossip Girl that she slept with Chuck! SCANDAL! During all of the Drama Serena finds a new love, Colin, a man who mysteriously puts girls in cabs each day…after the fling begins she soon finds out that Colin is her professor from College and they try and resist their feelings for each other. Serena and Nate become worried about Chuck and Blair’s “ War” and gets them to create a Peace Treaty so Blair’s 20^th Birthday Party won’t be in jeopardy…But, someone else spoils it for her….

Juliet and Vanessa’s scheming continues when they take photos of Serena and Colin in a “warm embrace”, Nate also finds out that Juliet has been lying about where she lives and finds out that she isn’t from a wealthy background like himself and his friends, but is actually poor with rented designer clothes. To make scheming even worse – Jenny joins in! the three girls plan against Serena at Chucks Masquerade Saints and Sinners Ball, where Serena is trying to make a decision between Dan and Nate and putting her feelings behind her. The girls scheme against her by showing up in exactly the same clothes, mask and hair as Serena, but before Serena actually gets there. They lead both Dan and Nate on by kissing them, leaving Serena in an awkward place later…Even worse – Juliet drugs Serena by placing a solvent solution inside of Serena’s mask! Serena wakes up in a place that she has never seen before with no clue of what has happened!

Check back soon for Part 3! There will probably now be 5 parts to this review due to the amount that I am writing each time, I know right now it seems like a summary, but trust me, I am trying to refresh everyone’s memories before I give the proper review part in parts 4 and 5! J

The Secret Circle – L J Smith – TV & Books! – By Lauren

So I read these books years ago. I absolutely loved them! I never thought I would but they were unique and very entertaining, just like The Vampire Diaries. However as we have seen so far TVD is nothing like the books but I still loved the show!

So when a friend told me about CW showing The Secret Circle I kinda got very excited!! I seriously cannot wait for this show!! Especially with this cast!

So what is it about? I will not spoil it as you may want to read the books but the pilot gives a lot away!

Gossip Girl S4 Review (Part 1)- By Steph

Calling all gossip girl fans! you have to agree with me that this season has been a shocker – the romances, the business, the setting!!
Starting in Paris and ending in New York, this twists and turns of series 4 have been quite unexpected.

For those who are all for Blair – what do you think about her and Louis? will it last? we first meet them in an art gallery in the heart of Paris and the Prince casually asks her on a date not giving away his identity, falling for the idea of meeting her Prince Charming, Blair is on top of the world! but wait, does she really know that he is the Prince? obviously not as when he collects her for her date he pretends to be the Prince’s driver….so, by this point Blair is not very happy and as you can imagine, since this was a double and Serena got the ”Prince” she was once again jealous of her best friend. Unluckily for Blair the date ends in disaster, and she returns back to New York to start college.
and for those who are a bit in love with Chuck – after we had been crying for the cliff hanger of series 3 we find Chuck either has amnesia…or is he deliberately forgetting the ”Old Chuck”? Chuck has been found by a blonde French girl who is completely in love with him, but after realising that Serena is on his back, Chuck decides to flee back to New York – WITH his new love.
And if you are more into Serena –  She starts on a summer break, best friends with Blair…but soon everything changes for Serena when she receives a package saying that she has got a place in the same university as Blair. Blair wanted to go to a different university as she didn’t want to live in the shadow of Serena, and when she finds out – through someone other than Serena, she is FURIOUS! this causes her to push Serena into a fountain!  However this feud lasts a matter of minutes as they make up quicker than expected. When Serena returns home she is still faced with a dilemma – should se be with Dan, or Nate?
