MTV Movie Awards – THE RESULTS!
So last night was the MTV Movie awards in the US, they will air in the UK Tonight at 9pm on MTV.
A few weeks back i started a poll to see who YOU wanted to win the Best Movie award…and your results were VERY accurate…

So, the Twilight Cast won Best Kiss for the fourth year in a row! Although Robert Pattinson was not there to accept the award with Kristen Stewart, she managed to provide a comedic speech trying to include some of her co-stars!

Convention News! – Steph
Hey Everybody!
So, since i last posted i attended Eternal Twilight 7 – an unofficial convention for the fans of the Twilight Saga. At the convention the guests were:
Booboo Stewart
Bronson Pelletier
Noel Fisher
MyAnna Buring
Unfortunately due to Alex Meraz cancelling the day before the convention due to work commitments, there were only 4 guests at the event and only 3 on the sunday as MyAnna had to leave. Although a lack of guests was apparent, we still had an amazing time nonetheless. At ET7 Massive Events announced that there WOULD be an ET8 held later this year, however, it would be the last convention for Twilight alone. This news was horrific. These events have been a key feature of our year here at Secret Lives, with all of us attending. Although it will be very sad to say goodbye to these conventions, the line up for ET8 is proving vert strong from so early on in the planning. So far the guests confirmed are:

Daniel Cudmore
Kiowa Gordon
Gil Birmingham
Justin Chon
Massive Events have promised us that these conventions will go out on a high.
In addition further bad news has surfaced. ‘The Games’, a convention for the fans of ‘The Hunger Games’ has been cancelled due to lack of interest from both attendees and guests. This is sad news, more so because ‘The Hunger Games’ has been such a hit and has recently been constantly in the public’s eye. The Guests who were confirmed to attend the convention were:

Leven Rambin
Although the event has been cancelled and the attendees will be fully refunded, the scheduled guests will now be appearing at a signing event – Collectormania, held at Milton Keynes. In addition, Jacqueline Emerson ‘Foxface’ has been announced to attend this event.

The Hunger Games Movie Review by Lauren
So if you follow us on Twitter you will have noticed I tweeted a lot the last few days about The Hunger Games. I was way too excited to see it mainly because I read the books a while ago and they are my favorite books ever! So this isn’t going to be a review as in the good, the bad and the ugly because there are no bad bits and lets face it there is no point in me writing an introduction to THG as I think if you don’t know what THG is then shame on you!
I vowed not to watch any trailers, clips etc because I sometimes feel they ruin the movie and because I know what happens anyways I wanted the movie to be a surprise. So I didn’t watch anything!! I went to the cinema to see Bel Ami with a friend and they played the trailer on all the screens and I panicked. I hid behind my magazine and closed my ears. I have to admit I did peak with one eye but I didn’t really see anything!
So I went to the previews last night with 2 friends. I was too excited – I ate my sweets before it even started!
I think I sat with an open mouth throughout. From the start everything was as how I imagined and I mean everything. The scenery, the town, the clothes, the people, the whole thing. The one thing I did worry about is how the arena was going to be shown. As the book is quite descriptive, yet I can imagine everyone seeing something different in their heads, so I was a bit like hmmmm I want to see what they’ve done with it. They did the arena brilliantly, just how I imagined plus more.
The story kept the suspense, pity, humor, sadness and heartbreak true to the book. I read the series in 3 days and I never stopped crying so I knew I would be crying at the movie. Then a friend told me she cried 3 times at the premier screening and she never cries I was like OMG I am going to be distraught and yup I pretty much was distraught! I don’t really want to say anything specific incase you haven’t read the books because the one thing we hate is spoilers!
I do think the casting for this was perfect. I am Team Peeta and I was a tiny bit disappointed with Josh being cast to begin with, but I think whomever they cast I would have been disappointed because in my head Peeta was perfect. So over all I was very impressed with the cast. Cato surprised me too, I was hoping he would be the way he was portrayed at the very end!
So that is all I am going to say incase some of you are going to see it and haven’t read the book. However I have to say GO SEE IT YOU WON’T REGRET IT. Yes I am shouting at the whole world!

The Hunger Games – Taylor Swift sings for the soundtrack!
So hot in the news is that Taylor will be on the soundtrack. The song is called Safe and Sound. What do you think? Personally I adore Taylor! Are there any scenes in particular when you can see this being played?

We don’t know about you guys but we, at Secret Lives, are so incredibly excited about THG being made in to films. March 2012 can’t come soon enough! For me (Dayna) the trailer didn’t disappoint. It looks like the film is going to be pretty impressive and seems to have captured the atmosphere of the first book really well – judging by the clips shown anyway. It’s just as I imagined those particular scenes to be. All being well, if this trailer is anything to go by, this will hopefully be a fantastic book adaptation.
