The Well Review by Dayna
The Well-Peter Labrow.
Trapped. Missing. Cursed. Fourteen-year-old Becca Richards and her stepbrother have fallen to the bottom of an ancient well. Their parents are away; they won’t be missed for days. The predatory man who had been stalking Becca now switches his attentions to her best friend. Two women who know where Becca is trapped are desperate that she should never escape. Over the course of a week, family, friends and strangers are drawn together by a terrible shared fate – from which not all will escape. ‘The Well’ is a darkly gripping tale about how we respond to the hand fate has dealt us – and the consequences of our choices. The Well deftly intertwines a story of supernatural horror with a tale of one of the greatest fears of modern life. As the book progresses, the two stories become one – driving relentlessly towards a single, thrilling finale. The Well is a fast-paced, riveting story that will grip you – and keep you guessing – until the very end.
Totally creeptastic! An incredibly chilling and disturbing read. When I saw the title I thought, “What on earth could happen in a well that takes 260 pages to explain?” as it happens, a lot! I really like the fact that the book is written from each character’s point of view. It makes a change to know what each character is thinking. The main focus of the story is on Becca and Matt who fall down a well after fooling around but you also get to know the lives of the other characters. Each characters paths then eventually cross and it’s a race against time to get Becca and Matt out but there is a much, much darker reason as to how they came to end up in the well which unravels as the story progresses.
Labrow doesn’t sugar coat stuff and is brutally honest about certain things that happen in the book which I found shocking at times yet refreshing; he really does get inside his characters heads and have them talk, think or do things that, when you think about it, would actually be quite realistic for a person to do or think but are usually too shocking for most authors to reveal in their books. I have to admit there were times when I found certain parts quite unsettling but I just couldn’t stop reading – It had gripped me by its’ claws and refused to let go. It had me scared witless at times and if this was a movie I’d be hiding behind that cushion throughout the whole film – seriously! It has been years since I have felt so scared and creeped out by a book that I was afraid to go to bed in case of nightmares. Stephen King, you have some serious competition there my friend!
If you love your horror and being scared silly, then this book is definitely for you!
I rate this book 5/5

Supernatural Season 6 Ep 1 – Sort of review/blabble by Lauren
You know I have waited so long for this series! I have watched SPN from the very beginning. I own all the boxsets and I even went to a SPN Convention where I got to meet, Jared, Jensen, Cindy Sampson, Brock Kelly, Richard Speight, Fred Lehn and Mark Shepard. A few spoilers were announced during the convention but I just closed my ears. A lot of people watched this season online which I normally do with other shows such as TVD, Glee, PPL and Gossip Girls but for SPN I have to watch on a large screen with surround sound!
I’m not going to review all the episodes but I am just to excited I though I would share my thoughts on episode 1.
First thought was OMG what is going on with Dean’s hair?? Its sooo not Dean its Jensen. But then again Dean is living a family life so he is different but I wasn’t a fan! I loved seeing Dean playing happy families. The tables seemed to have turned. Sam was the one who couldn’t accept being a hunter and wanted a normal life. Now Sam has gone and Dean is playing happy families its very weird. I didn’t like it so I’m glad it didn’t last long!
I was soo excited in the first few scenes. The yellow eyes demon made a return and I was so excited I said to my mother, I’ve met him – He serenaded me with a weird song! Dean was so vulnerable and I just wanted to scream Sam where are you!!
So yes Sam returned – not alone but with other hunters. These hunters were in fact Dean and Sam’s Grandfather! A few distant cousins and whatever. I did not trust Sam or his Grandfather. But then I realized Sam was Sam and not Lucifer (For now anyways). But I still do not trust the Grandfather.
The episode in its self was rather slow but who cares! I waited months for this so I can handle it. Immediately after the episode I wanted to pick up my Macbook and watch it online. Believe me it took all my strength not too!
Only 5 more days until episode 2!!
Did you watch it? What did you think? Comment below!
Canvas Warriors – My new favourite store!
I had the pleasure of meeting Sandira Reddy at Eternal Twilight 5 . I’ve been so intrigued by her work from viewing her online store and hearing that she would be at Eternal Twilight 4. I had never actually gotten the chance to view her items at ET4 due to the queues!!!
At Eternal twilight 5 I made sure I was there first to make sure I got to see all the goodies on offer! The first item that caught my eye was the Caroline necklace from The Vampire Diaries I fell in love with it and me and my friend managed to get the last two!!! Look how gorgeous it is, It also holds real VERVAIN inside and at £12 its a bargain!!!
I have worn it that much I am due a new one
Next up was the Charm Bracelets omg I was in my element!! I just had to get one. But what? There was so many things to pick from it was soooo hard! There was everything from Harry Potter to The Vampire Diaries to Twilight. Everything you could imagine was there! I settled on something simple yet beautiful. Everything is hand-made and my bracelet was made in front of me and ready to wear!!! Designing your own bracelet won’t break the bank either! Charms and beads range from 10p to £2. In total this cost me £18.

Then I got talking to Sandira about the hoodies. She explained that you can basically pick anything you want to customize it. So I went ahead an ordered my Team Paul hoodie. On
Friday it arrived!!! And I absolutely love it!! I later found out that it is the first Team Paul hoodie they had means which means…..Its one of a kind!!! So go visit Canvas Warriors and follow them on twitter @CanvasWarriors
