Wither – Review By Dayna
Lauren has broached a topic that I think we may have all thought about from time to time although I don’t think our imaginations could have quite gone to such lengths as to what happens in Wither. What would happen in say, 50 years time once all diseases have been cured? Would there be consequences? What would become of future generations? This is such a unique story which elaborates on this theory and is quite shocking to see what has come of the world and the society in which people now live in. Females now only live until they are 20 and males until they are 25. If they’re lucky. Rhine is sixteen years old. She is snatched from her home that she shares with her twin brother and is forced into a life that she does not want….a life in which she becomes a sister-wife.
The character development was great and I loved how the relationship developed between the girls. There were two love interests (although I’ll use that term loosely), Linden and Gabriel and I was so torn about who I wanted Rhine to be with in the end. I really enjoyed this book and I’m looking forward to the sequel because there are so many questions left unanswered so I’m itching to find out how this all pans out.
I gave this 4 out of 5.
