Everlasting Book Trailer – Alyson Noel
So here it is, the trailer for Everlasting!
Reviews coming very soon!
Radiance Alyson Noel- By Lauren
First a big thank you to Macmillian who kindly sent us this book to read! I love the cover of this. It was exactly what I pictured the Bridge to look like and exactly my view of Riley and Buttercup.
So the first line says it all “ Most people think that death is the end”. You would know about this book if you have read Evermore – the first book in The Immortals Series. Riley had a big part in book one but phased out in the next 4. I was really looking forward to this and I wasn’t disappointed. It was such an easy read, it was from the point of view of Riley who is 12 years old so it was really simple and fun to read.
I had a lot of giggles through this it was rather funny. Totally spot on with what a 12 year old would say. Riley is fearless and think’s she can handle anything!
I loved how Alyson has captured my thoughts on what the other side would be lie! I hope people do after a so called job and have a reason for being there. Riley’s reaction to her first job is hilarious, now that she has crossed the bridge she thinks she’s invincible and when she gets the chance to go back to the earth plane she cannot contain herself! I loved the reference to Buttercup and other dogs. Totally made me smile
I’d like to think Radiance and Summerland is real. Every one has a part to play where the dead help the living and the in betweeners. Just goes to show the other side isn’t perfect as we see as Riley sort of bullies her guide!
My idea od the other side is what ever dreams you have on earth that are not fulfilled, you will get the chance to do so if you cross the bridge! Ok so now I’m babbling on about my view of crossing the bridge but I can’t help it this story is so sweet! I cannot wait for Shimmer! However this book is short and would be perfect for a teen but I had fun reading it!
I would give this 4/5 for the pure pleasantness of reading it!
Night Star – Alyson Noel – By Lauren
So this was much better than the last two but not that much there’s, a bit of change in the story line, a bit of excitement.
Ever has grown up a lot and is learning about her past lives as Damen has accepted that ever needs to know the whole truth about their past. There is more of Jude in this book, he has a bigger part but ruins Ever’s plans. He tries to help but just end up interfering. I don’t feel like there was much need for him as you can totally tell what was going to happen. Miles comes home and finds out the truth. I think he is the best part of this book and talks sense. There isn’t much of Ava and the twins in this one but I still think the Twins should have been involved a bit more. Haven as per is a horrible annoying bitch but I mean it was so predictable.
So the end of book was good, a bit of action but a bit to easy predict. I could have just skipped this book and the last two books because I don’t think they added anything to the story.
Yeah sure I’ve enjoyed the series and I will read Everlasting but I don’t think I would recommend the series to anyone.
It’s an easy simple read but I would definitely say it’s for the younger young adults.
A Letter from Alyson Noel – The Immortals
So I have been reading The Immortals for a few weeks now. I have really enjoyed them – yes I have been tough on the last two books only because I didn’t feel they were the best. I loved the first two books. I have always said I am 100% honest and it will be reflected in my reviews. I have been told that Night Star is one of the best books and obviously Everlasting is the end. I just started Night Star this morning and so far I love it! Such a turn around!
Alyson Noel has just tweeted about a letter she wrote for her fans and I just realised it nearly is the end! Damen and Ever have been a part of my life over the last month and even though I didn’t quite enjoy the last book as much as I hoped. I will miss reading about them! Anyways here is the Letter from Alyson.
Dark Flame Review – Alyson Noel By Lauren
So Dark Flame is the 4th book in The Immortals Series. If you have my reviews of books 1-3 you will know my feelings. I am bored. Evermore and Bluemoon were fab, Shadowland a bit bland and Dark Flame well it felt like it was just another stop gap to keep us going until something happens.
The plot of this books came across as a game of cat and mouse. I say It’s boring, it was boring to an extent. I didn’t feel the need to read every single line, I kinda just had to skim through the pages. I was looking for something to happen!
A few of my previous questions were answered about Jude and Roman. I hate hate hate Haven. Argh that girl!! We also found out about Roman’s past. I don’t know why it took so long for Ever to do what she did to find out. Oh and we found out the truth about Ava. I still don’t trust her.
So i’m not going to go on and on about it. A few friends have said keep going its worth it and I’m thinking really? I may sound harsh but I have read many series where I just became bored. I am still waiting for something to happen! The ending was disappointing and I really don’t want to read Night Star nothing from Dark Flame made me run and pick up the book but I heard its the best. All I want to know is will Damon and Ever be truly together?
I think the movie will be better than the books in this case. I am going to stop rating these books out of 5 because I will rather rate the series when I am finished to give it a fair review.
So I have picked up Night Star this morning, lets see if my opinion changes!
Everlasting (The Immortals series) Book Trailer by Dayna
Eeek I was so excited when I saw the trailer for Everlasting! It is the 6th and final book in the Immortals series by Alyson Noel. I absolutely love this series! I’m so excited I can’t wait for it to be released here in the UK in a few weeks time although those lucky folks the US will be able to buy it tomorrow!
Shadowland #3 – By Lauren
I am writing this after reading the book. Normally I keep a diary of feelings and thoughts but I had no idea until I finished. I was kind of 50/50. I love the series but this wasn’t the best book. I felt like it was a bit of a stop gap, quickly chucked in there for the time being until Dark Flame was released.
Good points about this particular book was Jude. I love Jude!! Oh and the Twins. I love the amount of witchcraft used in this book. We were able to get a better feel for someone who had the ability. I actually learnt a lot! Even though nothing amazing happened I still had to read it. I did enjoy it but I enjoyed Bluemoon more and I’m guessing I will enjoy the rest more too. I felt Ever’s character was a lot stronger in this book. Perhaps a bit more feisty.
Bad things. First off one thing that bugged me was that it didn’t have the aura color chart at the beginning!! I used that for reference!! The Damen/Ever relationship is annoying. Damen is supposed to be old and I mean old, didn’t he learn anything from his past? Haven is a bit annoying but thats Haven she adds to it. I needed more Miles in this book and why isn’t Sabine asking questions yet? Is she that in love?
I loved the ending! I has definitely made me want to get straight on and finish the series.
These books wil have short reviews as I know they are very popular and I don’t want to spoil them for any one else! Where as I accidentally read one of Alyson Noel’s Q&A blogs and picked up some small spoilers.
Overall I give this book a 3/5.
Bluemoon #2 – By Lauren
Bluemoon – The second book in The Immortals Series by Alyson Noel
So I picked up Bluemoon, I raced through the book but suddenly I got a bit bored of the story line. Then Roman arrived! I was so intrigued. I was re-gripped to the story and I couldn’t put it down. Noel’s writing seamlessly flows and Its so easy to read. I really enjoyed the focus on Ever in this book. I loved how Noel managed to make Ever’s character so relatable but so not at the same time! She is at school, being outcasted, ganged up on something we can all relate to right? But the reason for that is because of immortal revenge, that we cannot relate too!
The ending of the book…. yes it was good but I am getting a bit sick of reading books like this but I can’t help it but to read them! Every book I read I can always relate it to a previous book I have read for example I can pin point examples in this book and say thats just like Jace in The Mortal Instrument or Edward in Twilight. I’m beginning to wonder if the young adult sci fi genre is going downhill? However I divided not to put any spoilers in this because there is 5 books and 1 spoiler could actually ruin the whole series. One thing I did like about this book was how much history and science was involved. It really got me thinking differently, I suppose it made me believe it that little bit more!
I rate this 3.5/5
Lets see how Shadowland goes?!! I can’t wait to see how Ever managed to explain this one…..P.S I miss Riley!!!!
Evermore #1 ( The Immortal Series ) – By Lauren
Book 1 of The Immortal Series by Alyson Noel
Well after all the recommendations I received for this book I bought the box set. I wasn’t overly excited to read it, the set stayed on my shelf for at least 8 weeks. I decided to take it on holiday with me hoping it would last a week. However it lasted 36 hours. I just couldn’t put it down!
At the beginning I thought oh no another teen anguish book. She loves him, he loves her, how can he put her life in danger blah blah blah but I was instantly hooked . I liked how straight away we found out about Ever’s life, why she is the way she is, what happened, where she is now. That kept me busy thinking with all sorts of emotions. Then Damen arrived. I did not have a clue how this character would turn out. I was so intrigued. Normally I guess characters well. Normally a vampire, fairy, wolf out to kill/protect such and such. However I could not tell where Damen was from, what he wanted or the reason for him being. Throughout the book I was forever guessing the possibilities and realized I was totally drawn in and I had to find out.
I loved every part of this book, the symbolicalness of the gestures, the way it made me feel that theres hope for us abnormal people, whether we are psychics or we just feel like freaks! However I would have liked to know more about Damen’s story!I loved Riley’s part, a book like this needed a bit of light heartedness, I actually laughed out loud on the beach to some of Riley and Ever’s convosations. I got some weird looks!
I rate this 4/5
I seriously can’t wait to get home and read Bluemoon
